7 Days of Kwanzaa • A Christian Reflection

Posted by Audrey Breaux on

Kwanzaa is a special celebration that lasts for seven days, starting on December 26 and ending on January 1. It honors African and African American culture. Unlike Christmas or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, but its important values—like unity, purpose, and faith—are meaningful to many Christians

I would like to share 7 days of Kwanzaa with a Christian Reflection.

DAY 1 – December 26

Umoja (Unity) Living together in peace and love
Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.

Psalm 133:1  How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

Reflection:

Today, we reflect on Umoja, which means unity. God is pleased when we live together in peace and harmony. As Christians, we are called to use our words and actions to bring people together, not divide them.

Daily Reminder:
Today, we reflect on unity. As Christians, we are called to bring people together through love, peace, and understanding.

Prayer: Lord, help us live in unity, speaking and acting in ways that bring peace and togetherness.
